These chocolate chip cookies are highly addictive. We are warning you to hide few cookies for yourself when you bake them as they will be gone before you know.  Aditi has mastered this recipe and was lovely to share with Gossip About Food. I had a great time making these cookies with my kids.

INGREDIENTS

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp cinnamon powder (optional)

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 cup milk

2 tbsp flax-seed powder

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Combine Flax-seed powder and milk ahead of time and let it sit for 20 minutes to thicken.

Step 2

Combine all-purpose flour, baking soda and in salt in one bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl or with a hand mixture.  Add the flax-seed mixture and continue to beat. Add the flour to the mixture and continue mixing.  Add chocolate chips and nuts.

Step 3

Make small balls and place them onto the baking sheets. Preheat the oven to 350° F and bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips and variations for the cookie dough:

Always remove the butter from the fridge 2-3 hours prior to baking

If the dough gets soft place it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes

Always place parchment paper to the baking tray

Cranberries, toasted oats, white chocolate chips or any type of preferred nuts can be added

Serve the cookie dough on mini cons for kids or at parties or make muddy brownie
