Coconut Barfi brings back sweet memories of my childhood. Those were the best guilt free days with my family in Jaysingpur, Maharashtra. Fresh coconut barfi is still my favorite Indian sweet. My mamisa (aunt) makes this barfi absolutely delicious and flawless. Enjoy the family owned recipe.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups fresh grated coconut

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 cup whole milk

1/2 teaspoon ghee

vark (silver leafs) for garnish

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Take a shallow pan (kadia) and add grated coconut and sugar.

Step 2

Add milk to coconut and sugar and keep on stiring continuously until the ingredients leaves the corners and form rolling in kadai.

Step 3

Take a plate or tray and grease it with ghee and pour the coconut mixture and pat it evenly and then cut in a square shape. You can add silver vark (silver leaf) on the barfi.
