Immunity boosting powder shared by Neha Shah to build our immune system.  Neha has mastered and tweaked the recipe to help her friends and family gain health benefits. Neha makes small pouches of the immunity boosting powder for her kids and family members so they can be taken in warm water during travels. She recommends giving the immunity powder to kids with honey or jaggery.

INGREDIENTS

4 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)

4 tbsp coriander seeds (dhaniya)

7 tbsp fennel seeds (Sauf)

2 tbsp carom seeds (ajwain)

2 tbsp black peppercorns (kali mirch)

3 tbsp fenugreek seeds (methi)

3 tbsp cardamom powder (elachi)

1/2 tbsp cinnamon powder (dalchini)

7 tbsp turmeric powder (haldi)

2 tbsp dry ginger powder (sonth)

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Take a medium skillet and lightly roast cumin seeds, coriander seeds, carom seeds, fenugreek seeds and black peppercorns for 7-8 minutes. Be sure to roast the seeds on low flame and not let them burn.  Transfer the roasted seeds to open bowl and let them cool completely. Do NOT grind until the mixture is completely cooled.

Step 2

Once the seeds are fully cooled, transfer them in the grinder and grind for 2-3 minutes to a powder. Remove the powder from the grinder to a medium bowl and add turmeric powder, ginger powder, cinnamon powder, and cardamom powder and mix all the ingredients gently. Store the powder in air tight jar.

Step 4

Mix one tsp of the dry powder in 1 cup of warm water and have twice a day.  If you are planning to serve the kids feel free to add 1/2 tsp of honey or jaggery. Make small packets of the immunity powder when you are traveling or at work.
