My earliest memories of delicious cooking takes me back to my aunt Mamta Runwal.  Mamta Mamisa’s home cooking was extremely satisfying for each and every family member. Her gift for cooking connected the entire family and made our summer vacations absolutely delightful.  Mamta Mamisa shares her passion for cooking, love for her family and her PERFECT recipe of Jalebi which is highly impossible to master but now with her simple step by step methods you will be able to conquer this Indian sweet.

You are a super mom, super wife and a fabulous granddaughter.  How do you balance everything in life and keep that beautiful smile all day long?

I am a people’s person and I love food, family and friends. Over the years; I have learnt that an instant gateway to someone’s happiness is food. “There’s no love sincere than the love for food.” It’s not always easy. Some days it’s hard to keep up the chirpy demeanor but a compliment for my perfectly baked biscuits and my kids’ satisfied faces after a good meal is what keeps me going

Your daughter kajol is an amazing writer and poet? She is now studying in London you must be so proud? How did Jasingpur to London happen?

My daughter has always been a dreamer but she’s also a doer and she’s quite stubborn when it comes to chasing her dreams. It takes an entire village to raise a child and I had massive support and help from my four sister-in-laws. I think all I did was dreamt the dream with her and helped her persevere. It did seem quite far-fetched to land in London from Jaysingpur but she’s blessed to be living her dream and to be studying Media at world’s second best University.

Where did you learn to be such a fabulous cook?

I have always enjoyed experimenting with different cuisines and recipes. I am loved for a lot of things I cook but there’s still a long way to go. My inspiration definitely is my mother, who’s passed me down her time-honored traditional dishes like Pav Bhaji, Green Pulav, Dal ka sheera. I also went to a lot of cooking classes. One of my favorite classes was conducted by an army wife in Aurangabad, Minocha Ma’am. She was the one who introduced me to Italian, Chinese, Thai and several other cuisines. My daughter still loves Minocha Ma’am Brinjal Italiano which is a layered dish of Baked Pasta, Cheese and Aubergines (Brinjals).

Which cook books do you like to follow?

I pick recipes from lots of magazines, newspapers and social media forwards but my ultimate favourite is Tarla Dalal and all her cookbooks.
