Poonam Jain shares her passion for food, people, travel and her exciting new food blog: GOSSIP ABOUT FOOD

Tell us about the blog?

I love to cook. We are fortunate to live in a time where creative people from different continents can help create incredible dining experiences with each other. We take inspirations from all over the world to help create recipes that are incredibly diverse and truly our own. Everyone has a unique story or a secret HOT SAUCE to share. My blog is to feature food-related conversations with real people and places.

Where does the inspiration for your recipes come from?

Everywhere.  My friends and family members are incredible cooks.  I have had the opportunity to attend several house parties around the globe and everyone does a fabulous job. I love going to farmers markets, grocery stores and working with seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Who is your go-to celebrity chef or sites you like to follow?

I love watching Ian Garten and reading her cookbooks.

Giada De Laurentiis is my favorite celebrity chef.

When entertaining and looking for ideas I end up with Epicurious, Smitten Kitchen, Food52, Bon Appetite, and NYT’s Cooking.

Your secret hot sauce?

A few years ago, I went to this small Lebanese restaurant called Beirut in Bangkok.  I fell in love with their hot sauce they serve with hummus and falafel.  I decided to make the sauce at home and was surprised to see the results.  I will be posting the recipe of the hot sauce on the blog!
